Dr Steven Graham

In order to maintain the high teaching standards set by the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), university faculty are encouraged to conduct research and present at international conferences. Dr Steven Graham presented a paper titled, “Developing Growth Mindsets and Grit for English Language Students and Teachers” at the 16th Annual LaoTESOL Conference, 27-28 January 2020 at the National University of Laos, Lao PDR. This paper illustrated how the conscientiousness of teachers and students can be used as a foundation for success in English language learning.
From 7-9 February, Dr Graham presented two papers at the 16th Annual CamTESOL Conference on English Language Teaching at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), titled, “Effective Oral Communication Practices for the 21st Century” and “Understanding Second Language Acquisition when Developing 21st Century ELT Courses”. These papers illustrated the work undertaken by AUPP to produce courses based on sound research, taking into account input from students in the development and refinement of existing university courses.
AUPP prides itself on the quality of their faculty and in order to maintain already high standards of education, the university continues to support the professional development of all its faculty and staff.
