The American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) is committed to helping international students fulfill their educational dreams and goals. We will work closely with our prospective students to help them through the admission process as well as with housing, orientation, obtaining a bachelor’s degree, seeking career opportunities, and much more. Admission Process

Please check out our Admissions Criteria below for eligibility and documentation you will need to submit when applying. Then, complete the online application and take the following steps:

STEP 1

Pay the $35 Application Fee

The payment instruction will be attached along with the email after your online application is submitted.

STEP 2

Submit Proof of English Proficiency

If you are currently in Cambodia, you may take our English Placement Test. Otherwise, submit proof of proficiency per our admission criteria.

STEP 3

Collect & Submit All Required Documents

If you did not submit required documents per the admission criteria at the time of application, please send them via [email protected].

International Student

Admission Criteria

The following are the required documents for international student admission. These documents will be required during the online application. In case that you do not have any of the documents, you may submit a blank document at the time of application and send the requirement via email to [email protected].

1. Proof of Identity

You must submit: Copy of Passport (For the international student)

2. Proof of High School Graduation

High School Transcript
High School Diploma

Note:

All documentation must be translated into English and notarized, if it is in a language other than Khmer and English.
High School Diploma should be submitted along with the letter of equivalency to the Cambodian High School Diploma. This letter is issued by the department of higher education, Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports in Cambodia.

If you are unable to obtain this document remotely, we will consider conditional admission. You will be presented with an admission offer and allowed to begin the classes; however, your ability to continue to enroll in classes will depend on obtaining this document. Inability to satisfy conditional admission requirements will not result in a tuition refund.

3. Proof of English Proficiency

All international applicants must show proof of English language proficiency. The following will satisfy our English proficiency requirement:

Proof of English level proficiency (within 2 years from the test date)
  • IELTS academic: minimum score of 6.0
  • iBT TOEFL: at least score of 79 or higher
Proof of exam score equivalent to collegiate level English
  • A Level Exam (English Language): Minimum Grade D
  • HL Exam (English A: Language & Literature OR English A: Literature): minimum
Collegiate-level transferrable course equivalent to AUPP collegiate-level English
Proof of citizenship to a country where English is the native/primary language used (this is verified via the submitted passport)

Please note: International students who are already in Cambodia can opt to take our English Placement Test.

All international students will be required to submit an Elevator Pitch Video (EPV).

Elevator Pitch Video (EPV)

An Elevator Pitch Video takes on the format of an elevator pitch, a brief introduction to an idea, project, or product; in this case, it would be a brief introduction of you!

Per our admission requirements, if your English Placement Test is waived, you will be required to submit an up-to-three-minutes Elevator Pitch Video addressing the following questions:

Tell us about yourself.
Why did you choose AUPP?
Which degree would you like to study at AUPP and why?
Would you engage in student organizations and activities while attending AUPP and why?
Would you engage in student organizations and activities while attending AUPP and why?

We will be evaluating the quality and depth of your answers, rather than the format and quality of the video itself; we encourage you to spend time on drafting concise and direct answers to the above questions, and film yourself using any available method (phone, laptop, etc.).

Admission Process (MBA)

Before starting the MBA Online Application to AUPP, please check out our Admissions Requirements below for eligibility. You will be asked to upload all required documents in the application. Then you can take the following steps:

STEP 1

Pay the $35 Application Fee

STEP 2

Submit Documents & Proof of English Proficiency

If you are currently in Cambodia, you may take our English Placement Test. Otherwise, submit proof of proficiency per our admission criteria.

STEP 3

Wait for the MBA Interview

Upon receiving the sufficient documentation for our office review, you will be invited to join the interview with our MBA coordinator.

Admissions Requirements (MBA)

All documents will be required to submit at the time of your application. Please check out the requirements below and start collecting the documents. Then you can get started with the MBA Online Application.

The minimum requirements for admission to AUPP MBA degree are as follows:

Completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA based on a 4.0 scale
Two years of working experience or currently working
Minimum IELTS (Academic Module) score of 6.0 (with no individual skill band below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score of at least 79 or higher is expected for all non-native English speaker applicants. Applicants may take the AUPP English Placement Test if they do not have IELTS or TOEFL score.

  • A copy of Passport
  • An earned bachelor’s degree diploma to be uploaded in application form
  • An Unofficial Transcript to be uploaded in application form (If you accept our offer of admission, we will request official transcripts at that time)
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Personal Statement

Note: If your diploma is obtained OUTSIDE of Cambodia, please have it certified by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports in Cambodia.
