AUPP License and Accreditations

American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) was established in 2013 with a license by the then Prime Minister of Cambodia. AUPP operates as a private university under the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport supervision.

AUPP is fully accredited from 2019 to 2028. The institutional accreditation covers all degree programs as part of the national standards.

AUPP offers single-degree programs nationally accredited under the institutional accreditation and, since 2016, dual-degree programs in partnerships with the University of Arizona and Fort Hays State University, which are accredited by WSCUC and Higher Learning Commission, respectively, in the USA.

Chartered Management Institute (CMI)

AUPP’s partnership with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the UK’s leading professional body for management and leadership, means students can earn globally recognized CMI qualifications alongside their degree. This dual recognition enhances employability, develops essential leadership skills, and connects students to an international network of business professionals. Graduates will be awarded an Associate (ACMI) membership grade upon graduation. Experienced managers with a proven 3-year track record will be able to qualify for a Member (MCMI) grade.

Certified Management Accountant (CMA)

Through CMA's recognition, students in Bachelor of Business programs benefit from alignment with the Institute of Certified Management Accountants Australia standards. Graduates are entitled to use the designatory letter GMA (Graduate Management Accountant). This prestigious credential prepares students for management accounting roles and global career opportunities. CMA-aligned studies ensure graduates develop advanced analytical, decision-making, and leadership skills sought by top employers worldwide.
