Meet Our Inspiring Alumna, Song Sokunvatey

Congratulations to our alumna, Song Sokunvatey on her new journey to pursue a Juris Degree at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in the United States.

As one of our brilliant Law alumni, Sokunvatey initially spent one year working at a corporate law firm in Phnom Penh after she graduated from the American University of Phnom Penh. During this period, she was involved in various corporate matters such as company set up, amendment on business, and giving various advice on business matters in Cambodia.

Sokunvatey addressed the importance of expanding knowledge and stepping out of your comfort zone. She mentioned that “It is a good opportunity to continue your studies abroad to widen your knowledge. I felt that I have grown a lot after leaving my comfort zone and having new experiences such as meeting new people from all parts of the world, experiencing a new culture, and traveling to new places.”

Song Sokunvatey graduated with a dual degree Bachelor of Arts in Law from the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) and its program partner, the University of Arizona (UA). In taking up a dual degree program, she has received two diplomas from both UA and AUPP. AUPP is the only university providing internationally recognized US accredited dual degree programs in partnership with the University of Arizona and Fort Hays University.

The American University of Phnom Penh is proud of our alumna, Sokunvatey, and would like to wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
