Meet Dr. Riccardo Corrado, our ICT Program Chair!

The American University of Phnom Penh is pleased to have Dr. Riccardo Corrado as our ICT Program Chair!

Dr. Riccardo Corrado received his bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Trieste, Italy, where he also received his master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering. In 2012, he underwent the Italian national board exam for information engineering, organized by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) to become a professional engineer. Riccardo continued his studies, pursuing a Ph.D. in his Alma Mater, wherein in 2016 was awarded his Ph.D. in Information Engineering.

Considering his love and passion for education, Riccardo continued his academic studies in education, and in 2021, he was also awarded a master’s degree in Education from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, with a dissertation focused on the implementation of MOOCs in the Cambodian higher education curriculum. In addition to being the Chair for ICT program, he also collaborates with the STEAM program of the AUPP High School Foxcroft Academy (AUPPHS-FA).

Dr. Corrado added “AUPP embodies American education, offering quality learning experiences, and focusing on guiding students in their learning, while fostering their critical thinking skills, besides of course equipping them with the necessary soft and hard skills they need. Personal growth is important as much as their professional growth. I always repeat that in AUPP I see an enormous potential. Here, there is a great community, open-minded, with a mixed culture, and with respect for each other. The care that professors give to students, the honesty and transparency in everything is something that I cherish and makes me be proud to be part of the AUPP family.

I do hope to see the same motivation, and passion in the AUPP ecosystem today, tomorrow, and in the years to come, because this university has an enormous potential to unleash.”
