On August 27th, 2024, the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) and Next Make Inc. Co. proudly celebrated the signing agreement to launch the Japanese IT Pathway Program.
The ceremony was graced by the distinguished presence of H.E. Dr. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, H.E. Ambassador Ueno Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Mr. Takahashi Fumiaki, President of the Japan-Cambodia Association. Their keynote remarks underscored a shared commitment to fostering international partnerships and advancing the technical capacities of Cambodia’s skilled IT professionals.
The Japanese IT Pathway Program, a collaborative effort between AUPP and Next Make Inc. Co. is designed to expand career opportunities for AUPP IT students. This program offers a unique opportunity for students to prepare for successful careers in Japan’s dynamic IT industry. By integrating Japanese language studies and specialized IT training into AUPP existing curriculum, students will gain the essential skills required for employment in Japan’s private sector.
Targeting third-year students, the program spans two years and is structured as follows:
- Year 1: Students will embark on intensive Japanese language courses, laying a solid foundation in communication, writing, and listening skills.
- Year 2: Students will advance to practical IT courses tailored to the Japanese industry, ensuring they acquire relevant and in-demand expertise.
The program emphasizes the attainment of Japanese Language Proficiency certifications at the N3 and N2 levels, the development of advanced IT competencies, and active engagement in real-world projects. Upon successful completion, graduates will be well-prepared for immediate employment with Japanese companies.
The Japanese IT Pathway Program is set to commence in early September 2024, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for AUPP students.
