Pavel Ushakov

Dr. Pavel Ushakov is an associate professor of philosophy. His main research interest is the philosophical analysis of intense religious experience in ascetic and mystical religious traditions. Dr. Ushakov worked at the American University of Nigeria for more than 8 years, the last two years as Chair of General education department. Prof. Ushakov has direct practical experience of working with religious organizations. In 2004, he was a member of the State Commission for Educational Certification of Barnaul Theological Seminary.

Dr. Ushakov has significant experience in the development of new educational projects. In 2007, with the support of Business School of the Altai State University and local government, he led the project of Training Center development. Prof. Ushakov has participated as an expert in court hearings relating to destructive religious cults and totalitarian sects.
