Dr. Ketsela Hailu Demissie is an Associate Professor at the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP). He holds a Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. in Mathematics from Addis Ababa University, one of the most prestigious institutions. With over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, Dr. Ketsela has served at leading private and public universities across Ethiopia, China, and Germany.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ketsela has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses to students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Business and economics disciplines. He is a certified educational consultant and is licensed to teach in higher education institutions.
In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Ketsela has held several senior leadership roles, including Vice President, Chief Registrar, Academic Program Unit Head, and Department Head. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for three academic institutions and chaired a governing board. His leadership has been instrumental in successfully implementing institutional and national-level reform projects.
Dr. Ketsela’s research interests lie in applied algebra, algebraic geometry, and generalized ring theory. He has published in reputable international journals, coordinated multiple international mathematics conferences, and co-founded the Ethiopian Mathematics Professionals Association and the Ethio-Science Olympiad.
