Program Description

This program prepares students with the technical knowledge and skills needed to protect and defend computer systems and networks. To develop graduates to plan, implement, and monitor cyber security mechanisms to help ensure the protection of information technology assets.

It is a four-year professional undergraduate program that deals with Cybersecurity. During the course students will get the depth knowledge required to achieve success in cybersecurity landscape. The course provides both theoretical and practical competency to meet the current and future challenges in cyber security domain. The career prospect for graduates will be Security Consultants, Cyber security analyst, Forensic computer analyst, Network Security Engineer, Cyber Security Analyst, Security Architect, Cyber security Engineer, Application Security Engineer, Subject Matter Experts, Researchers etc, apart from traditional software development.

Program Outcomes

  1. Configure, implement, and manage security devices and equipment considering the unique features of the computer operating systems, networks, applications, and software.
  2. Applying project management strategies to implement security and address the information security requirements of the organization.
  3. Develop, implement, and examine organizational cyber security policies, standards and regulations to maintain internal security.
  4. Measure the performance and troubleshoot cyber security systems.
  5. Implement cyber security solutions.
  6. Be able to use cyber security, information assurance, and cyber/computer forensics software/tool.
  7. Perform vulnerability and Cyber security Risk assessments and penetration testing for infrastructures, web and applications, using both manual and automated techniques.
  8. Usage of tools techniques to formulate remedial measures to secure information systems against threats.
  9. Perform security and IT infrastructure audits and forensic analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of a security system, and identify and correct security defects.
  10. Monitor and analyse logs and alerts from security devices to determine the extent of a security breach and the data compromise.
