AUPP Student Selected for Student Ambassador Program with ACCA

AUPP’s student Sothearea Pov has been selected for a Student Ambassador Program with ACCA. Sothearea Pov will be a Student Ambassador with ACCA from 2016 until 2018.

ACCA Ambassador is a two-year program organized by the Associate of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to equip young people with the necessary skills to use in their future workplace and provide them the opportunities to network with other potential candidates. ACCA Ambassador selected its applicants through two main processes: application and interview. The application was closed on August 15, 2016 and upon interview, 20 university students were selected, and AUPP’s Sothearea Pov happened to be one of them.

Miss Pov, a junior at AUPP, is majoring in business. When asked why she applied for the ACCA Ambassasor program, Miss Pov said “I have many reasons for this. One, I want to challenge myself and develop my leadership skills. It will be useful for my future career because being an ACCA ambassador is a great opportunity to be involved in a variety of ACCA’s business events and conferences. Simultaneously, I will be able to build my network with successful business people in advance.”

“I am so thankful for Dr. Donald Rallis who always provides me good advice and encourages me to pursue my dream as my priority. Moreover, I would like to thank to Dr. Nial Farrell, the Vice President of Academic Affairs for AUPP who supported me to become successful in becoming  an ACCA ambassador,” she continued.

After becoming an ACCA Ambassador, candidates are provided with the opportunities to work closely with the Engagement Executive to brainstorm initiatives, involve in event planning and organization, and master their logistic arrangement skills.

ACCA is a global body of professional accountants, aiming at equipping committed and ambitious people around the globe who seek to pursue their career in accountancy, finance and management with the skills necessary for a work place.
