During the six-week in JRFP with the Center for Khmer Studies, AUPP International Relations and Diplomacy student, Sou Hong TOUCH, engaged in in-depth research on contemporary Cambodian history, focusing on the use of language and rhetoric by the Khmer Rouge. Her project, titled “Inventing the Enemy: The Chronology of Anti-Vietnamese Rhetoric in a Khmer Rouge Publication,” analyzed how internal discourse shaped military and political strategies.
This experience not only deepened her understanding of Khmer Studies but also showcased AUPP students’ dedication to exploring Cambodia’s complex history and society.
