Director of Graduate Studies

Location:  Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Schedule:  Full-time
Period:  12-Month Position
Supervisor:  Vice President Student and Academic Affairs

Responsibilities:

May teach up to two courses each semester for Fall/Spring.
Represent AUPP Instructional interests globally to develop, communicate, implement, together with VPASA assess both annual short-term plans and long-term plans along with the creation of an updated academic master plan for graduate programs.
Support leadership for student success initiatives particularly student retention and completion.
Coordinate the administration and governance of graduate studies within the graduate programs.
Serve as a point of contact for graduate students enrolled in the programs and community stakeholders to grow enrollment of the graduate program enrollment.
Serve on community boards to build relationships with local businesses to create a pipeline for working professionals or students looking to obtain their graduate degree.
Act as the liaison among the graduate students, program faculty, and the university.
Serve as the program’s representative on university curriculum committee and others as appropriate.
Communicate relevant matters to the program faculty or its committees as needed; informing the faculty of graduate education-related policies, deadlines, and programs as appropriate; and forwarding recommendations, nominations, and other information from the faculty to the appropriate stakeholder.
Provide written criteria to each student, upon entry, of what constitutes acceptable progress through the program and the grounds for which a student’s termination from it.
Monitor the progress of student through their cohorts through graduation.
Orient and counsel graduate students with respect to program and degree requirements until a permanent adviser is selected and assist in that selection as necessary.
Enforce regulations of the University, the relevant collegiate unit(s) and the degree program.
Oversee the maintenance of graduate student records and the annual student evaluation process in coordination of Academic Affairs.
Provide periodic reports on the program and data to the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.
Carry out such other responsibilities as specified by the college(s).
Facilitate a program of professional development activities for graduate students within the program.

Requirements:

MBA or Phd in the field of Management from an Accredited University (ie AACSB).
Previous experience in organizational management, preferably at a Fortune 500 firm or an accredited University. Demonstrated successful experience in strategic planning, fiscal management, resource allocation, and personnel supervision.
5 years of University experience in lecturing or management role, preferably in Asia.
Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English) and strong professional network.
