The American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) is proud of all outstanding Law students who participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law 2022 Moot Court Competition. AUPP would like to congratulate the team for their hard work, commitment, and dedication in the National Competition Rounds that were held on Saturday, March 12, 2022.
The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is an international competition run by the International Law Students Association (ILSA). The competition is conducted annually with participants coming from over 600 law schools from around the world. The main purpose of the competition is to promote knowledge of public international law among students and practitioners of law.
AUPP Team has fought vigilantly and with a lot of passion through many rounds and successfully reached the Final Round. Our Law students, CHAN Rithy, DY Bosolida, LEAN Pheanuraingsey, SAMRETH Haripong, and ROS Sophearathna had been challenged to form and draft coherent legal arguments supporting their position and prepared for the oral argument with other universities. The team argued on many complex legal issues with the international law scope including the admissibility of illegally-obtained evidence, election interference, human rights, and data theft.
AUPP admires our young Jessup team for their hard work to make this far in their first-ever Jessup Journey. We would also like to express sincere thanks to our professor, Dr. KEO Sothie for being the best coach and also KOUCH Oudomvichea and LENG Malen for being the inspirational advisors to the team.
AUPP would like to also take this opportunity to strongly encourage our students to participate in the World’s Jessup Moot Court next year as it will be an eye-opening experience for everyone who dreams to be a lawyer or law practitioner in the future.
