On 29 November 2024, the students of BUSN360 (Business Ethics and Social Responsibility), led by Professor Michael Berg, successfully organized a blood drive on campus as a prominent example of the American University of Phnom Penh’s commitment to developing leadership, teamwork, and a strong sense of social responsibility. This event has drawn in over 50 donors, all of whom made significant contributions to a cause of vital importance.
A strategic partnership with the National Blood Transfusion Center made this initiative possible and helped ensure the blood drive’s success. This drive addressed the vital need for blood donations in Cambodia while making a notable impact on the community and exemplifying AUPP’s overarching goal of educating students on addressing and interacting with pressing societal issues.
AUPP’s goals are to develop exceptional people to become critical thinkers, pioneering innovators, and ethical leaders who are prepared to positively and significantly impact society. This blood drive was held to illustrate the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of social responsibility in solving the community’s urgent needs. AUPP continues to equip students to lead with integrity by fusing a strong commitment to societal advancement with academic and professional excellence through campaigns like this one.
This project demonstrated AUPP’s standing as a leading institution committed to developing socially conscious people by equipping them with the skills, values, and knowledge needed to make a remarkable and lasting impact in the community.
