Academic Honors

Full-time students who have earned a semester grade point average of 3.60 or higher are place on a Scholars’ List. Students receive the honor every semester that they meet the requirements. The achievement is recognized by a letter from the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. Names of students receiving the award are posted on the Website and at AUPP.

At graduation, the following honors designations will be recorded on the students’ diplomas.

  1. Summa cum laude (with highest honors) to the one student in major program with highest overall grade point average.
  2. Magna cum laude (with high honors) – to students whose overall GPA puts them in the top 5% of the graduating class.
  3. Cum laude (with honors) – to students whose overall GPA puts them in the next 5% of the graduating class.
